a little better

i kept all my medications (prenatal vitamin and other supplements) down for the first time in over a month. even the krill oil capsules. i hate vomiting so this was a very positive thing.

friendship in despair

“And they sat with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his suffering was very great.” Job 2:13

i read this today and thought it was very wise. i guess these are the same friends who are reprimanded later for giving poor advice but i think it shows a lot of love and wisdom to sit with someone and not speak. it seems like people just want to fix you, “make it better” when you are suffering. because they don’t like the awkwardness of being in someone else’s pain? because they have good intentions and don’t like seeing others hurt? i don’t think healing comes from a quick removal of the pain, it seems to be usually a process…to sit in the ugliest, hurtiest part of pain and come to grips.
